Our Ultimate Mono collection stands out for its mono-pitch roofs. This roofing style slopes downwards on one side; in turn, one wall is taller than the others. The straightforward design provides a greater sense of natural light and spaciousness, creating a comfortable living space.

Because of the single slope, there is no need for apex ridging. As such, mono-pitch homes use less material than roof types like the gable roof or hip roof. The roof shape makes it suited for draining rainwater and collecting solar energy. However, you must consider factors like the position and angle of the home’s entrance before you install solar panels on a mono-pitched roof.

Every HouseIt kitset home features a sturdy structure backed by steel-lined PIR panels that offer excellent insulation for the walls. PIR panels are also durable, easy to maintain, and can be painted like traditional building materials. We build each house with at least one bedroom, a kitchen, and a bathroom, combining functionality with modern aesthetics for a low-cost living solution.

Estimated costs

If you are buying your first kitset home, it is important to know the extra costs that come with it. These include the price of New Zealand local council consent, transportation, foundation, deck, stairs, and amenities connected on-site (such as water and electricity). For a studio cabin up to a 45sqm kitset home, this will cost approximately $60,000 to $100,000. For a 60sqm to 115sqm kitset home, this will be around $115,000 to $140,000.
